A Story of Heritage & Growth
SA Direct was founded by three publishing veterans from Reader's Digest, Taiwan's Echo Magazine, and Asia Weekly, united by a vision to create a house devoted solely to quality children's literature.
Long before picture books were common in Hong Kong, we pioneered their introduction, curating the world's finest titles and importing top-tier tools like LOGICO, all guided by child development research.
To extend reading beyond the page, we launched Hong Kong's first "Picture Book Gallery." This created a vibrant community hub for families, setting a new industry benchmark for community-focused reading spaces.
Embracing innovation under second-generation leadership, we completed a full brand renewal and expanded beyond publishing to offer services centred on reading and critical thinking.

We are committed to our corporate social responsibility in every aspect of our business. In recognition of this sustained commitment, we have been awarded the "Caring Company" logo for over 15 consecutive years.
A Book Donation Initiative for Mountain Regions in Mainland China
From 2008 to 2016, our "Flying with Dreams" initiative brought the hope of reading to remote mountain regions. The project began with the publication of a story collection co-authored by students from both regions, culminating in the delivery of over 25,000 books to more than 20 schools and building a bridge of compassion.
